Kalamazoo State Theatre

Event: 11:00AM ET

We’re bringing the heat for a very special State on the Street event!  Join us at the Kalamazoo State Theatre for a celebration of Downtown Kalamazoo’s Annual Chili Cook-Off February 19, 2022!

Old Dog Tavern will be on site serving their amazing homemade chili and cornbread pudding!  We’ll have our patio bar set up with just the perfect drinks to wash it all down.

When you’ve had your fill of chili, grab a seat and enjoy Abbey Rose & Co. performing live music from the marquee starting at 11:30am!

Abbey Rose & Co. is a family music act based in southwest Michigan. The act includes lead vocalist Abbey Ufkes, her dad Todd Ufkes on lead guitar, and her uncle Tommy Ufkes on drums. They primarily play classic rock music with a sampling of songs from today.

What To Expect:

– Enjoy live music from the marquee from 11:30-1:30PM

– Drink specials available to purchase outside of KST

COVID SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FROM THE KALAMAZOO DOWNTOWN PARTNERSHIP

The safety of the community is very important to us, and the planning team has made a number of adjustments to the event with the input of the City of Kalamazoo and County Health Department. Outlined below are COVID precautions put in place for Chili Cook-Off:

Chili Cook-Off has been moved from inside individual businesses to an entirely outdoor event to provide more space to socially distance.

Attendees are expected to: wear masks when approaching and in front of tents and within 6 feet of others; follow the flow of traffic.

Opportunities for person-to-person contact have been limited as much as possible:

Self-serve chili samples – no contact between server and taster

Spoons are available for purchase online only – you can pre-register or scan the QR code the day of to purchase.

Disposable spoons will not be offered

Hand Sanitizer will be available at check-in tents and all chili sample tents for the public to use.

If you are feeling sick or unwell, please do not attend this event to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
