The Kalamazoo State Theatre has been connecting artists and fans for more than 90 years and we are excited to be opening our theatre once again to the public and welcoming our patrons back!  This Friday, August 27th, marks our first live concert event hosting a full capacity indoor audience since March 7th, 2020.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our commitment remains to prioritize the safety of Kalamazoo State Theatre fans, artists, and staff. We will continue to monitor and evaluate our procedures according to the guidance and protocols of the CDC, MDHHS and the City of Kalamazoo. Beginning this Friday, 8/27, the Kalamazoo State Theatre will require the following for entry into all shows.

  • Proof of full vaccination at least 14 days prior to the event with a photo ID.
    • Proof of vaccination may include a physical card or a photo of a complete vaccination card that matches the patron ID.

OR

  • Proof of a negative Covid-19 test (molecular, PCR or antigen) taken within 72 hours of the event with a photo ID.
    • Proof of negative test administered by an official testing center may be printed or digital test result that matches the patron ID.
      • Home testing kit results will not be accepted for entry
    • Children under the age of 12 who cannot get vaccinated, may show proof of a negative test.
  • Masks are encouraged, but not required.

Given the everchanging COVID situation, these protocols are subject to change.

We are committed to reopening our venue in a safe and responsible manner and prevent another devastating shut down.  By following some new procedures, we can continue to make history and you can continue to make new memories.

To minimize risks for everyone, we ask that you please be mindful of the following:

  • Please leave all large bags, backpacks and purses at home, your hotel, or in your vehicle.  No purses/bags over the dimensions of 8 inches by 5 inches by 2 inches will be allowed into the venue.
  • Refrain from entering the venue if you are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.  Any patrons who arrive to the venue with a fever ≥ 100.4 or showing other symptoms of COVID-19 will not be permitted to enter.
  • Practice good respiratory etiquette (e.g. cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing)
  • Wash and/or sanitizations have been installed throughout the venue.
  • Our cleaning procedures emphasize repeated sanitizing of all high traffic touch points in the theatre.
