The Kalamazoo State Theatre is an official Art Hop stop and we want you to be there! Join us in honoring our 90th anniversary on September 8th between 5PM-9PM. Start out the fall show season by celebrating with us downtown on the mall and in the venue to commemorate 90 years of memories at the State Theatre and in the community.
Since it’s opening in 1927, originally as a movie palace and Vaudeville House, the Kalamazoo State Theatre has been host to not only childhood memories and first dates, but also some of the biggest acts to come through the area. Thanks to all your support, the historic theatre continues to be a local monument of entertainment.
To show our appreciation to the community for its timeless enthusiasm as we reach this milestone, we’re throwing an all-ages, free event featuring:
- Live music from the Kalamazoo Mandolin & Guitar Orchestra, Dan Willenberg Trio, and more
- Complimentary cake cutting ceremony at 6PM and champagne toast for first 90 guests (21+) of the evening
- A chance to vote for your favorite entry of our poster contest
- “Pictures or it Didn’t Happen” photo op with Yelp!
- Wine & cheese pairing with St.Julian & The Cheese Lady while supplies last
- Local KST related art exhibits
- Enter to win tickets to upcoming events
