OBJECTIVE: The promotions street team seeks to increase awareness of concerts and performances at the State Theatre. You can be a part of our team by distributing posters, flyers and other promotional materials to be prominently displayed at record stores, bookstores, restaurants, specialty retail establishments and other appropriate public locations in the Greater Kalamazoo area.

ASSIGNED LOCATIONS: Each member of the promotions street team will be assigned a specific area of town that they are responsible for covering. Each member will be required to distribute materials based on concert schedule - at least twice a month - to stay active. Team members will need to pick up materials at the State Theatre ticket office. At the time of pickup, the team member will be given a distribution form, which needs to be filled out completely and returned once distribution is complete.

MEMBER REQUIREMENTS:
• An outgoing personality
• Valid Driver’s License
• Reliable Transportation of their own
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion
• An appreciation for different types of music

WE PROVIDE:
• One pair of tickets to select shows (for personal use only)
• Active member’s names will be included in lottery prize drawing once a month for CD’s, merchandise and other prizes
• Experience in the music business

The Kalamazoo State Theatre is now offering non-paid, part-time internships in the areas of administration & marketing. The Kalamazoo State Theatre is a great place to gain experience for anyone interested in entering the entertainment/music industry. Candidates must be studying to obtain their undergraduate degree in areas related to music business, theatre administration, public relations, business administration, marketing, and advertising.

Independent thinking, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), and ability to muli-task are essential skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) is a must.

Some duties you may encounter:
• Building marketing reports for upcoming shows
• Assisting in distribution of promotional material
• Assisting in preparations of settlement materials
• Manage promotional tickets for several performances
• Create press releases for 1,000+ e-mail subscribers
• Develop new marketing campaigns for wide genre of audiences
