Addicted to Love is a play exposing the addiction of one man and the absence of a good woman. Jimmie loves his wife & children and he is faithful to his work. However, his gambling addiction causes him to loose everything that meant anything, including his integrity. His wife Cheryl talks to him consistently about changing his life; she believes that being a Christian man makes you a better man. After an intense argument, she storms out of the house only to find tragedy waiting. Jimmie lost his wife to a car accident. Their son Peabo now lives in a constant state of denial, and Michael blames God for this tragedy and refuse to ever preach again. Cheryl’s father (Papa Stone) suffers from Alzheimer’s and often forgets that his daughter is even dead. Cheryl’s mother (Margaret) being the only sane one in the family works hard to keep from falling apart. Jimmie now understands that a good woman makes all the difference in a home. This play is revealed when a nightly succession of images allow him to live life again with the one he loves.
