Welcome to the Kalamazoo Animation Festival International (KAFI), the premier animation festival of the Midwest and one of the top 20 animation festivals in the world. The dates for KAFI 2007 are May 17th-20th. Plan now to attend this exciting event.

KAFI 2007 will be the biggest yet. We’ve welcomed animators and industry veterans from such companies as Pixar, Disney, Nickelodeon, Hanna Barbera, Electronic Arts, Cartoon Network, Adobe, Dreamworks, Animation World Network, PBSKids, and Alias. Additionally, we’ve welcomed animators and educators from Sheridan College, College for Creative Studies, Art Institute, Max the Mutt Animation School, Columbia College, Bowling Green State University, San Jose State University, and others.

KAFI has been privileged to screen many Academy Award winning and nominated films for such as “Ryan” (2004) by Chris Landreth (Oscar winner for Best Animated Short Film, 2005). Additionally, we have screened Academy Award winner “The Moon and the Sun” (2005) by John Canemaker and Academy Award nominated “Guard Dog” (2004) by Bill Plympton and “Das Rad” (2003) by Chris Stenner and Heidi Wittlinger.

KAFI is preparing for their biggest and greatest festival ever. With each festival, KAFI continues to bring the highest quality and commitment to the arts and education for entrants, attendees and special guests.

KAFI takes place in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan on a biennial schedule alternating with the prestigious Irving S. Gilmore Keyboard International Keyboard Festival
